Tea tree, peppermint, thyme — notes from the shelf

Some bottles on the bench are louder than others.

Tea tree is the clean green of a crushed leaf. Peppermint is the open window. Thyme and oregano are the kitchen-garden ones — warm, sharp, a little wild. We do not ask them to be medicines. We ask them to be themselves: aroma, character, the reason a roll-on can feel finished.

At Green Laboratorium we read plants the way we read weather in the Alps. What is the note? Where does it sit on the skin? Does it belong next to sweet almond, or does it need a softer neighbour?
